Put the Pillowcases to Work

You don’t have to look far for the perfect bedsheet storage — it’s actually already part of the set itself. You can fold and tuck everything inside one of the included pillowcases to not only keep the set together, but also ensure a uniform and cohesive closet.

Here’s how to do it:

• Fold the fitted sheet — the infamous troublemaker of the linen closet — into a neat (or neat-ish) rectangle roughly the width of one pillowcase. (There are hacks for wrangling a fitted sheet, but it doesn’t have to be perfect. The beauty of this storage solution is that it hides and contains any mess.)
• Fold the flat sheet to a similar size. Stack it on top of the fitted sheet.
• Set aside one pillowcase. Fold the remaining pillowcases and add them to the pile.
• Turn the remaining pillowcase inside out. This keeps the side you rest your face on clean. Slide the folded stack of sheets inside.
• Tuck any excess fabric into or under the pillowcase to create a tidy package, and stack it with other similarly folded sets on your shelf.

Say so long to the days of teetering piles of linens shoved into an overpacked closet; this hack keeps your shelves looking neat and prevents matching pieces from getting separated or lost. If you have different bed sizes in your home, organize the bundles by size (twin, full, queen, and king) or by room (primary bedroom, guest room, kids’ room, etc.). With each set bundled, it’s easy to grab and go on laundry day. Best of all, you don’t have to purchase a single thing to upgrade your storage system — everything you need is already in your closet.
