Take Control of Your Cables

There are many ways to organize an unruly pile of charging cables, but one of our favorites is using transparent playing card storage boxes.

These containers are perfectly sized to stash a charging cable or two, and their compactness and transparency make it easy to find the cable you need at a glance. You can take your tidying efforts a step further by purchasing playing card storage boxes that come with an organizer.

While storing one cable per card box is useful for staying organized, grouping identical cords together ensures you’ll always have a backup. (Pro tip: If you store multiple cables in a single box, use cable ties to keep them extra neat.) Whichever way you choose to organize your cables, take this opportunity to declutter. Having one or two backups is fine, but if you find yourself with a mountain of duplicate cords, get rid of the extras. Throw some in a donation box, give them to friends and family, or keep one in your car or travel bag.

Level Up With Labels

To make it even easier to find the right charging cable, use a label maker to mark each storage box. You can label them by charging cable type, such as USB-C or micro-USB, or by the device they power, like your phone, laptop, or tablet.
